Located on the beaches of the Carolinas with sweeping views of the Atlantic, this 3-story home underwent extreme renovations to bring life, light, and color back into this 1990s beach bungalow. Situated in one of the last surviving surf towns in the world, the owners were determined to keep the roots of the original house to stay true to the authentic feel of the island. With the mix of vertical and horizontal shiplap, hints of Hawaiian elements, and a boat cabin room layout, this house exudes surf shake feels. The mix of contemporary elements keeps the spaces fun and youthful - yet modern and chic. The house is designed to invoke the sense of a permanent vacation. The living room is designed to provoke the idea of play into the lives of all ages. All of the bedrooms have sliding glass doors that connect to a sleeping porch with hanging furniture and an abundance of greenery. The bathrooms range from a Mediterranean villa to a modern, tiki bungalow.
